My teeth are yellow and my gums are always swollen. I can't see a dentist. Help?
My teeth are in really bad shape. they look like they’re rotting cuz they all have jagged edges. plus they’re no where remotely close to white.
And my gums bleed every single time I brush my teeth, no matter how much i floss.
I keep tryin to ask my parents if i can go see a dentist, but they won’t let me. Is there any way for me to cope with these teeth and gum problems without a dentist’s help?
yeah. Get some listerine, the alcohol will reduce the swelling and get toothpaste that says it has baking soda or it says whitening on the front.
You need both the listerine and the whitening toothepaste, in a few days if you use them twice a day–you will notice a reduction of blood and swelling. You can use the toothpaste to get your teeth a shade whiter.
Reduce drinking coffee and soda for a little bit to help your teeth get really white.
White strips could help too.
good luck

i would advise you to see a dentist or a medical doctor or perhaps a school nurse.

1. Stop drinking soda
2. Floss after every meal and really get to the bottom Do it every single day.
3. Rinse and swish warm salt water around your mouth, then spit it out. It will help to tighten up the gums
4. If you do drink soda, rinse or drink water right away
If it has been over a year since you last saw a dentist, ask you school nurse to help you. In MN they are having a free dental week soon. Ask your nurse about that in your state.

You are right to want to see a dentist. But if your parents do not listen to you, ask your school nurse to help you. She will know what to do.
Meanwhile, brush your teeth in the morning and at bed time and use the floss. If you brush well, your teeth should start to look better.
Best of luck!

Baking soda is not the best for your teeth. I used it and I had soo many cavities and crowns done. My dentist told me to use Flouride or Whitening Toothpaste. They use flouride at the dentist. If your gums bleed your not brushing your teeth good enough. Your gums are not suppose to bleed.

Do you have a school nurse? Go, your parents are guilty of neglect. In the meantime rinse mouth often with warm salt water. Buy a bottle of peroxide, it is really cheap. Rinse & gargle with it often it will help kill the germs that are rampant in your mouth. It doesnt taste great, but not terrible. Keep brushing use a soft bristle toothbrush, brush your gums & inside mouth as well. Pour a little peroxide on brush after using to keep it clean. Good-luck. I am sorry

The longer you go without seeing a dentist the worse your teeth and gums will get. You have a disease called gingivitis. Our toothbrush and floss can only reach so far. Any plaque that builds up under the gum line cannot be cleaned by your toothbrush. A dental Hygienist needs to clean your teeth. If you ignore this, your gingivitis will advance to periodontitis. Gingivitis you can get rid off when you see a dentist. But periodontitis is irreversable. Its a disease that attacs the gum and bone of your mouth. eventually your bone will start shrinking until youliterally loose your teeth. Periodontal disease is the leading cause of adult tooth loss. I dont mean to scare you. But a lot of people dont see the reality of how important your teeth are. All that bacteria in your mouth is in your blood stream. It will bring down your inmune system and you get sick very easy. It can even cause heart attacks. But your still young. And its not too late. You need to explain all this to your parents. If they dont wanna take care of their teeth, thats their prolem. You are concerned for it.
In the mean time, DO NOT use white strips like somebody told you. Your gums are too sensitive right now to aggravate them more by bleaching. Start flossing after EVERY meal and brushing. A healthy mouth wouldnt need that much flossing. But this is not the case. Right between the gumline is where your gingivitis is starting. Than brush. Use a soft bristle brush. It is not true that a hard brush will clean better. It will hurt your gums and teeth. Down the road you will get recession at the gumline and wearing of you teeth. Brush your gums as well. Spend at least 2 minutes in your mouth. Brush the chewing surfaces, tha tongue side, the cheek side and on the front teeth, brush the face side and behind them on the tongue side. brush your tongue as well. It has a lot of bad bacteria. Rinse affterward with ACT complete moouth rinse. Its the one that helps with everything. It also has fluoride which will help with cavities. And in between all that, through out the day, rinse with warm salt water. This will help with healing the gum. You will bleed averytime, but eventually it will stop. Your gums bleed because they are infected. And infection causes swelling. Once they are clean and healthy, they wil lstop. BUt if your disease is more advanced, it might not. Bottom line is, you need to see a dentist.
